SDBOR to Expand South Dakota Advantage States

The South Dakota Board of Regents (BOR) approved extending the South Dakota Advantage rate to Minnesota residents beginning this summer. Regents also supported the addition of Kansas and Missouri to the South Dakota Advantage program. This existing tuition initiative targets nearby states with a demand for higher education and offers South Dakota resident rates to new out-of-state students. Offering competitive tuition rates to students in neighboring states has proven successful for BOR universities.

South Dakota Minnesota Reciprocity

Did you know that students in Minnesota have access to a reciprocity program established by the legislature in 1978? The Board determines the program rates every year based on the current agreement. Based on the agreement, the visiting students pay the higher amount between their home-state tuition and fees or the tuition and fees of the campus they attend.
